Learning with the PooYoos is the first in an educational series aimed at kids aged 3-6 years old. The first thing that struck me about Episode 1 was how bright and attractive the graphics were. They take up the whole screen with no distracting menus, icons, or text as other games would feature. A soothing female voice walks you through the actions, and teaches you what simple objects and colours are on the screen. The whole experience is very user friendly, especially to the younger age group.
Learning with PooYoos does feature some activity and gameplay. You can choose between a little or a big PooYoo which determines the difficulty of the controls in game. The first was a bubble bursting game where a little PooYoo would shake the Wii remote, but a big PooYoo will need to point and click to pop the bubbles. Other games feature a dancing and balloon/boatride games where you will literally dance along with the PooYoos (no actions are required on screen), and the last is a cloud game.
In conclusion, Learning with PooYoos: Episode 1 is definitely a step in the right direction for edutainment games for children. It is an affordable option for entertaining kids, which features several hours of fun for the whole family.
