For a game that has caused so much controversy, Sexy Poker is certainly not worth the hype. As the first adult themed game on Wiiware, all we get is a dodgy version of strip poker. The game was first banned by the OLFC as nudity was being used as an incentive to win, but has finally been released several months later. There is no nudity featured in the game, despite it’s MA15+ rating.
There are six anime girls to choose from in typical occupations including a nurse, policewoman, and teacher. The nurse is available at the start, with the rest gradually unlocked as you go. Texas Hold-em or Blackjack can be selected for your one-on-one session. Texas Hold’em is incredibly easy and can be won by betting high stakes from the start, but Blackjack is slanted in her favour as she tends to draw 21 quite often.
A bar/bra shows you how many times you need to win to get the girl to take off her clothes. Each girl has around 4 layers of clothing to remove until she gets to her underwear. A horrible voice actress also taunts you as you play. While Sexy Poker has certainly broken the mature game barrier of Wiiware, all it provides is cheap thrills with mediocre sexiness and poker.
