MyWii News - Super Mario Galaxy 2 almost Finalised

In a recent interview Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is in the process of being finalised.

“We’re in the middle of finalizing the game, the ideas that we’ve created, almost entirely new courses for Super Mario Galaxy 2. Of course we’ve added some new abilities for Mario. And the goal is to take the system and the gameplay of the original Super Mario Galaxy and turn it into something that’s a little more expanded and offers a great deal of challenge for people that enjoyed that first game,” said Miyamoto.

While there is no official release date, there is a rumour floating around that Europe will see the game on February 10, 2010.

C'mon! I want it NOW! I just hope that player 2 is actually luigi, not just anthor star pointer. Also, will rosalina be coming back? She's my favorite nintendo girl.

I can only dream that this is true. That would be amazing to play that game so early into the year.

I’m indifferent when it comes to this one. I hate the idea that they are making a direct sequel to Galaxy. That chapter should be closed. I most probably won’t buy it.

I wish Miyamoto would okay a ‘Mario origin game’- a little more adult-oriented, with Mario as a straightforward plumber in a pair of overalls stumbling through a seemingly never-ending pipe and into the Mushroom Kingdom, where he must then venture off in search of the Princess and his first encounter with Bowser. That’d be something.
